The PICC

Established in February 2008, the Phi Phi International Community Centre is a project for all schools, organizations, volunteers and travelers that wish to connect and work with a unique community at the same time developing a learning programme that sustains an important environment and the value of cultural traditions. Mission Statement: Phi Phi international Community Centre is a ‘non for profit’ facility used for academic, extra-curricular and volunteer programmes that promotes learning through service and community partnership. The centre and trustees are committed to supporting environmental conservation and sustainable development, cultural preservation and sharing of local knowledge, holistic experiences and self reflection, which will ultimately create greater opportunities for all through education.


Aims and Objectives

  1. To create extended learning opportunities through partnered education for all students and adults that use the centre.

  2. To enable enthusiastic volunteers (especially from schools) to stay and work with the Laem Tong community at a reasonable price encouraging service partnerships and interaction.

  3. To promote and protect the unique culture of the Sea Gypsy people and to learn from their traditions and stories.

  4. To encourage sustainability and conservation of Laem Tong Bay and the local environment through education and suitable action, creating a centre of good practice for eco-tourism and ‘green’ education.

  5. To establish a sustainable enterprise that is self-funded and managed by the local community and remains focused to the mission statement and objectives at all times.

Regent’s Hosts First Ever PICC Cup Charity Football Tournament

The first of this event; the PICC Charity Cup Football Tournament was held this on Sunday 27th November. The day was bright and sunny, great conditions for an all day football tournament. The day started with the first kick-off at 10.00am and ended 40 games later at 5.00pm. With the Regent’s Student Guild, parents and the Thai staff supplying refreshments and food throughout the day, players and spectators where well looked after.
